Strada Contractors Ltd was established in 1993 and 15 years on under the guidance of the original managing director, it has developed into an organisation providing a blast cleaning, industrial painting and general building works service to various sectors of the market on a nationwide basis.
The company concentrates on the Rail, Highways, LUL, Environment Agency and Utility Companies as its main sectors, although we do carry out contracts for a whole range of clients outside these sectors.

Strada's specialist area of work is Blast cleaning and Industrial Painting of bridges and Structures which belong to Network rail, Highways Agency and London Underground.
Structure painting also covers structures like Thames Barriers and most recent award the Barking Barrier. Flood defence systems such as Pilings also require to be Blast cleaned and an Industrial Coating applied and finally Gas tanks/pipework which can be found in the Utility sector.
Whilst Strada work for most of the Major Contractors within the UK, carrying out the bridge and structure painting works, it is becoming more common place for the end user to contact Strada direct to undertake a scheme as a main contractor. More recent tenders have involved Southwark Bridge, Eurostar, Bournemouth Borough Council who have invited Strada to submit a full package including Scaffolding/Containment, Steel work repairs etc.

Strada Contractors are a member of the Institute of Corrosion and have registered with the ICATS training scheme, which will provide blanket training of all site personnel.
We believe our commitment to provide quality on site is of paramount importance to the final delivery of the project and that this can only be achieved with trained site personnel who have a full understanding of the work scope, specification, quality standards and procedures that are required.
Strada Contractors fully believe that this training scheme will complement other industrial training skills schemes we are involved in.
ICATS is a comprehensive structured training scheme, for the registration, training, and certification of industrial surface preparation and coating operatives.
The Training scheme contains a mandatory unit containing 6 modules Health & Safety; Site Access, Plant & Equipment, Surface Preparation, Paint Types & Application, and Quality Control.
The scheme is supported by the Highways agency, Network Rail, British coating Federation, British Constructional Steelwork Association, Consulting Engineers, Local Authorities, and Structural Engineering Specifiers.
Strada are also committed and compliant to CSCS and other schemes within our industry such as PTS, IOSH and Passport to Safety.
Health and Safety
Strada's commitment to Health and Safety is fully transparent with our Safe Contractor approval and employment of a Health and safety advisor.
Stradas's accident and near-miss rate is still non-existant due to procedures in place and implemented with regular training/site inductions to all employees.
Regular site and management meetings cover all issues regarding the company awareness of new legislation.
Quality
Towards the end of 2003, Strada received the new ISO 9001 qualification. Regular company management and site meetings are attended by our Quality manager who regularly reviews and ensures that all systems are in place and adhered to.
